On 12 October 2023, representatives of Vietnamese and Japanese universities gathered at the headquarters of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in central Tokyo for lively discussions on academic exchange (I.e. joint research by researchers) and educational exchange,(including student exchange and joint seminars). The meeting was organized to coincide with Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son`s visit to Japan.
Nguyen Thuy, Chair of the Association, and Professor Rui Takahashi, Director of the Association, attended the meeting and actively exchanged views with representatives of Vietnamese universities, based on the recognition that exchange between Vietnamese and Japanese universities is indispensable.
At the meeting, AFA thankfully welcomed Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang, President of Hanoi University of Technology, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long, President of Transport University, Dr. Phan Thu Huong, Vice President of Hanoi University of Foreign Trade, Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Vice President of Can Tho University, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hien, Director of Vietnam-Japan Institute for Human Resources Development, for a discussion with Dr. Nguyen Thuy and Dr. Rui Takahashi on strengthening collaboration between their respective institutions to enhance all aspects of academia. Subsequently, we delved into more concrete plans for the future, and AFA agreed to provide support for the promotion of academic exchange moving forward.
